Week 5 was not a banner week for defenses across the league as scoring went back up in a lot of games. However, there were still plenty of impact plays to be made and strong defensive performances by individuals. This week was marked by a lot of new faces on the All-Havoc team with only Xavier McKinney and Riley Moss having appeared on one of the teams earlier in the season. Here's a look at our All-Havoc 1st and 2nd teams for the NFL week 5:

First Team All-Havoc

CB- Pat Surtain II(1), Denver: Surtain was a game wrecker for the Broncos against Las Vegas on Sunday. In addition to his 100 yard interception return for a touchdown, Surtain added another pick and 2 passes defended. The Broncos defense has looked like an elite unit through 5 weeks of the season and Surtain’s lock down abilities on the outside have been a big part of that.

CB- Deonte Banks(1), NYG: Banks defended 3 passes and forced a fumble in the Giants 29-20 victory over the Seahawks. He was second, only to Surtain, in coverage Havoc in week 5 and helped limit the Seahawks offense to just 20 points.

CB- Donte Jackson(1), Pittsburgh: Donte Jackson came over from Carolina in the off-season and has recorded 2 interceptions and 3 passes defended for the Steelers this season. On Sunday night, he had a pick of Dak Prescott to go with a defended pass and 4 tackles.

S- Camryn Bynum(1), Minnesota: The Minnesota defense has been a revelation this season and Bynum recorded 1 of 3 Aaron Rodgers picks in London that led to Robert Saleh’s firing a few days later state-side. Bynum led all safeties in coverage Havoc in week 5 and added 6 tackles in the game.

S- Xavier McKinney(2), Green Bay: Excuse me if you’ve heard this before. Xavier McKinney had an interception for his new team. That’s been the case in each of McKinney’s 5 games with the Packers to start his career and he nearly had a couple more on Sunday against the Rams. McKinney is putting together one of the elite defensive seasons of the year and could be considered the front runner for defensive player of the year at this moment.

LB- Jerome Baker(1), Seattle: Baker returned to the lineup for the Seahawks on Sunday to record 14 tackles and a sack, while also forcing a fumble. He led all Linebackers in run-stopping Havoc while also ranking top 15 in coverage and top 30 in pass rush Havoc. Baker turned in an all-around performance despite Seattle coming up short against the Giants.

LB- Jerermiah Owusu-Koramoah(1), Cleveland: Owusu-Koramoah stuffed the stat sheet against the Giants recording 5 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 pass defended, 1 forced fumble and an interception. Not Surprisingly, he was top 10 in run stopping, coverage, and pass rush Havoc among linebackers.

ED- Travon Walker(1), Jacksonville: The Jaguars have been looking for this kind of impact out of Travon Walker since they drafted him number 1 overall in 2022. His day was highlighted by 3 sacks and a forced fumble in the Jaguars win over Indianapolis. He earned the top spot in pass rush Havoc for the week.

ED- T.J. Watt(1), Pittsburgh: Watt has recorded a sack in all but 1 Steelers game this season after getting 1.5 against the Cowboys on Sunday Night. Watt also accounted for 8 tackles in the game and 3 QB Hits. He was number 2 in the league in pass rush Havoc, but also ranked top 10 among edges against the run showing his versatility and why he’s still one of the best in the game. For the cherry on top, Watt went over 100 career sacks this week, moving him to 39th on the all time list.

DT- Kobie Turner(1), LAR: Turner had 6 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass defended against Green Bay, all from the interior. He outpaced the field by a mile in week 5 for defensive tackles. He was number 1 for pass rush Havoc and run stopping Havoc among interior defensive lineman.

DT- Daniel Ekuale(1), New England: Ekuale had half a sack and 9 tackles against Miami trying to keep New England in a defensive slog type game. He was top 5 among defensive tackles against the run and top 10 in pass rush Havoc with New England coming up just short of the victory against the Dolphins.
