Week 17 All-Threat Team
Week 17 saw two of our top performers all season long in Joe Burrow and Saquon Barkley flex their muscles yet again and make the First Team for All-Threat. As always, visit the stats tab in the app to see full Threat Ratings for every position.
Threat Ratings Week 17 First Team
QB- Joe Burrow(4), Cincinnati: Burrow makes his fourth All-Threat team of the season, most among quarterbacks in 2024. In a must win game against the Broncos, Burrow went 39-49 for 412 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions leading the Bengals to a 30-24 Overtime win. He now leads all quarterbacks with 4,641 pass yards for the season and also has the top season long Threat Rating at 94.5. If not for the fact that the Bengals are still long shots to make the playoffs heading into week 18, we’d be having serious conversations about Joe Burrow for MVP.
RB- Ameer Abdullah(1), Las Vegas: Abdullah is the only First team All-Threat performer this week that is not a repeat for the weekly award. In his first big time opportunity of the season, Abdullah rushed 20 times for 115 yards and caught 3 passes for 32 yards as the Raiders beat the Saints. It doubled his previous season high in carries when he had 10 against the Chiefs on Black Friday. Abdullah was 4th in Receiving Threat and 3rd in Rushing Threat among running backs in week 17. His season Threat Rating is 70.4.
RB- Saquon Barkley(7), Philadelphia: On the other end of the running back spectrum, Barkley seemingly ends up on the All-Threat team every week. Barkley capped his 2000 yard season on Sunday with 31 carries for 167 yards in the lopsided 41-7 victory over the Cowboys. It capped his season because he’ll be sitting out week 18 with the Eagles locked into the number 2 seed in the NFC. Barkley led all running backs in Rushing Threat in week 17. He finished off his campaign with a 99.0 Threat Rating, first among running backs and more than 6 points clear of Derrick Henry at number 2.
TE- George Kittle(7), San Francisco: Kittle joins Saquon Barkley as a 7-time weekly All-Threat performer in 2024. He caught all 8 of his targets for 112 yards in the 49ers loss to the Lions on Monday night. With that performance, Kittle crossed over the 1000 yard mark on the season for the 4th time in his career. He also has caught 8 touchdowns in 2024. His 90.7 Threat Rating makes him the top tight end for the season so far, narrowly ahead of Trey McBride.
WR- Tee Higgins(2), Cincinnati: Playing on the franchise tag this season, Higgins is desperately trying to prove that Cincinnati is not just the Burrow/Chase show and he deserves a long term deal. In the Bengals win over the Broncos, Higgins caught 11 of 12 targets for 131 yards and 3 touchdowns. In just 11 games this season, Higgins has caught 69 passes for 858 yards and has an outside shot to go over 1000 next week against the Steelers. Higgins 82.9 Threat Rating for the season is 7th among wide receivers and gives the Bengals a very dynamic 1-2 punch.
WR- Tyreek Hill(4), Miami: In a down season by any metric, Hill is still just 61 yards shy of 1000 for the season and has made 4 All-Threat teams in 2024. On Sunday against Cleveland, he caught all 9 of his targets for 105 yards. However, despite some flashes, Hill has struggled this year. He is averaging just 11.9 yards per reception. Hill enters week 18 with a 78.2 season-long Threat Rating ranking just 23rd at his position.
WR- Adam Thielen(3), Carolina: From one receiver who may have father time catching up to him to another who we thought was caught by father time years ago, but somehow keeps coming back. Thielen, in his age 34 season, just made his 3rd All-Threat team of the season with a 5 reception, 110 yard, 2 touchdown game against the Buccaneers. In 9 games this season, Thielen has produced 43 receptions for 571 yards and 5 touchdowns. He ranks 20th among receivers this season with a 78.7 Threat Rating.
