We head into week 9 with a mixed bag slate. The early slate is highlighted by two 5-3 teams in the Broncos and Ravens with the Ravens coming off a disappointing loss to the Browns last week. In the late window, we have an NFC North showdown between the Packers and the Lions. Here's a sampling of our Best Bets in week 9. As always, go the Best Bets tab of the App for all of our picks.

  1. Jonathan Taylor Under 73.5 Rush Yards: Taylor shows disadvantages against the Vikings defense in point of attack, men in the box, and personnel. He is averaging 5.3 yards per attempt this season, but we anticipate an early lead from the Vikings that could limit his touches. Minnesota is averaging 10.3 first quarter points per game this season, by far the most in the NFL. That could spell doom for the Colts ground attempts and we'll take the Taylor under here.

  2. Chris Olave Under 69.5 Receiving Yards: Olave has been a weapon for the Saints since he entered the league in 2022, but he's only hauling in a 17.8 percent target share this season. He's turning that into 55.3 yards per game, well under his Vegas line in this game. Also, if the Saints play the Panthers with the lead, they may not need to air it out as much. We'll take the Olave under in this one.

  3. T.J. Hockenson Over 38.5 Receiving Yards: Hockenson has yet to play so far this year, but he is anticipated to have no restriction coming off his knee injury. He hauled in 95 catches last season before his injury and he expect him to pick up at least close to where he left off. 38.5 is a low number for a Tight End the caliber of Hockenson, so we'll take the Over here.

  4. Bills Cover -6 versus Dolphins: The Bills have won their last two contests by at least 21 points. They also beat the Dolphins in week 2, 31-10 in a game that Tua Tagovailoa was playing in until later in the 3rd quarter. Tagovailoa is 1-7 against the Bills in his career. We like Buffalo to control this game and win by at least a touchdown.

  5. Jalen Hurts Over 212.5 Pass Yards: Hurts has a major field area advantage Deep against the Jaguars. With all their weapons back, the Eagles offense in coming into its own. Hurts had a rating at 132.5 last week against the Bengals. We like the Hurts over in this one.
